This is an Italian two-sheet poster made to promote the 1960 Sylvio Amadio film White Slave Ship [l'ammutinamento] based on a story by Sandro Continenza and Marcello Coscia and starring Pier Angeli as Polly. Plot summary: In 1675 the slave ship Albatross is bound for the New World with a cargo of political prisoners and women convicts who are to be sold into slavery. There is a mutiny, a counter-mutiny and then a rescue by a British warship.

Born in Italy in 1932 as Anna Maria Pierangelli, Pier Angeli appeared in 33 films before her tragic suicide at the age of 39 at her home in California. She is remembered for having dated James Dean while he was filming East of Eden, and for her roles in the American films Battle of the Bulge and Sodom and Gomorrah, where she appeared under her American stage name, Pier Angeli. This is a country-of-origin poster for the Italian film White Slave Trade (1962), made when she was 30 years of age.
