Pictured is an Egyptian poster by an unknown designer for the 1961
124-minute Vladimir Fetin color comedy Striped Voyage
[ПОЛОСАТЫЙ РЕЙС] written by Aleksei Kapler and Viktor Konetksy, a
Russian satire about life in the Soviet Union. Plot summary: The
Soviet cruise ship "Evgeni Onegin" is bound for Odessa with cages of
tigers and lions for a Soviet Circus. A loose monkey unlocks all the
cages releasing the tigers and lions. The poor passengers and crew
have no place to run. The frightened captain [Aleksei Gribov] abandons
the ship's wheel and the monkey takes over navigation. The ship is
completely overrun by tigers and lions. Only one woman is up to the
challenge. Her name is Marianna [Margarita Nazarova]; she loves
animals and is soon in command. The Arabic title in red script at the
top of the poster is rahlet khatara [dangerous trip] with an
Arabic tag line "two hours of continuous laughter."
