This is a 27" x 40" US one-sheet poster designed by Intralink Film
Graphic Design for the 1990 Rob Reiner film Misery based on a
1987 novel by Stephen King with the same title, screenplay by William
Goldman and starring James Caan as Paul Sheldon and Kathy Bates as
Annie Wilkes. Plot summary: Paul Sheldon is a best-selling novelist
who crashes his car in a blizzard while driving home from his Colorado
hideaway after completing a novel. One of his fans, Annie Wilkes, is
following him. She pulls him out of the wreck and takes him to her
remote mountain home to care for him until the roads are clear enough
so he can get to a hospital for treatment of his broken legs and
dislocated shoulder. Out of gratitude for her kindness, Paul allows
Annie to read his new unpublished novel. What follows is a nightmare
as Annie becomes enraged at what happens in the latest work and
demands that Paul burn it and write a new one that alters the story.
Paul complies because he is afraid she might kill him otherwise.
Kathy Bates won an Academy Award for best actress for her role as
Annie Wilkes.
