1999 Youssef Chahine film The Other written by Youssef Chahine
and Khaled Youssef and starring Hanan Turk as Hanane. Plot summary:
Adam [Hani Salama] is a student from a wealthy family who returns to
Cairo from New York for a break from his studies and a visit. During
his Cairo break Adam falls in love with Hanane, a journalist of modest
means who is conducting a campaign against the wealthy Egyptian elite
as they plunder the country. Adam's parents, who are themselves part
of the corrupt Egyptian upper class, and especially his mother
Margaret, [Nabila Ebeid] are opposed to the relationship between Adam
and Hanane.
