This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet poster for the 1967 Andrew
V. McLaglen film The Way West based on the 1949 Pulitzer
Prize-winning novel of the same title by by A.B. Guthrie, screenplay
by Ben Maddow and Mitch Lindemann and starring Kirk Douglas as Senator
William J. Tadlock. Plot summary: In 1843 the widower Senator Tadlock
leaves Independence Missouri and heads west on the Oregon trail in a
wagon train along with his son William [Stefan Arngrim] and a large
group of fellow pioneers guided by Dick Summers [Robert Mitchum].
Senator Tadlock assumes leadership of the group but his harsh ways
cause clashes with elements of the entourage. The Serendipity Singers
sing the title song.
