This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet poster for the 1953 Joseph Kane
film San Antone based on a novel by Curt Carroll, screenplay by
Steve Fisher and starring Rod Cameron as Carl Miller and Forrest
Tucker as Lt. Brian Culver, CSA. Plot summary: During the American
Civil War Confederate Lt. Brian Culver helps Carl Miller lead a cattle
drive into French-occupied Mexico, where the French are fighting
Mexican revolutionaries led by Benito Juarez. The cattle drive is
stopped by the Union Army, which jails the cattlemen. Lt. Culver
deserts when the drive is interdicted. After the war Miller begins a
new cattle drive that must get past the Battle of Monterey and a group
of hostile indians. The events of the film revolve around bitter
antipathy between Miller and Culver and a passionate romance between
Miller and Mistania Figueroa [Katy Jurado].
