This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Mohammad Abdel Aziz
and Morteda Anise for the 1979 Tayseer Aboud film Father of the
Girls AKA abu al-banat based on story, screenplay and
dialogue by Tayseer Aboud and Bachir El Dik and starring Farid Shawqi
as Sayed Ahmed al-Nesa'. Plot summary: Sayed was working a low-level
government job and living with his four daughters Samira [Aida Riad],
Mona [Madiha Kamel], Safa [Rawa El-Kateb] and Laila [May Abdel
Nabi]. Mona was interested in a wealthy young man named Medhat
[Mahmoud Kabil] at about the time her father was being pushed out of
his government job despite years of faithful service. A man named
Hussein [Mohammad Hamdi] working at the government's district office
was arrested for smuggling. Sayed killed him, was arrested and
sentenced to three years in prison. Mona and Medhat married and had a
monotonous life together. She moved in with one of her friends, who
led her into deviant behavior. Sayed got out of prison after serving
his time, very upset about what had happened to Mona. When she saw
him, Mona jumped out of a window and killed herself.
