Ib Melchior and John C. Higgins and starring Paul Mantee as Commander
Christopher 'Kit' Draper. Plot Summary: Commander Draper is forced to
land on Mars in an escape pod due to a fuel emergency on his mother
ship; he loses the other member of his crew, Colonel Dan McReady,
[Adam West] who is killed when his escape pod crashes. His only
remaining companion is Mona, a flight-test monkey who has survived the
crash in McReady's pod. He later rescues a slave [Victor Lundin]
being held on an alien spacecraft; he names his new companion Friday
and begins teaching him English. In return, Friday shares his supply
of oxygen pills with Kit.
