This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet poster using art by John Solie to
promote the 1974 Steve Carver film Big Bad Mama based on a
story by William W. Norton and Frances Doel and starring Angie
Dickinson as Wilma McClatchie. Plot summary: In the early 1930s Wilma
McClatchie and her comely young daughters Billy Jean and Polly [Susan
Sennett and Robbie Lee] go from bootlegging to bank robbery following
in the footsteps of her deceased lover, then another criminal
companion named Fred Diller [Tom Skerritt]. After that they try
kidnapping, hoping to get a ransom for the beautiful daughter of a
millionaire. This film is a veritable bad-taste cornucopia of
robbery, mayhem, road collisions, gunfights and sexual conquests
filmed over a bouncy bluegrass soundtrack supplied by David Grisman
leading the Great American Music Band with help from Jerry Garcia on
banjo.
