Shown here is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Wahib Fahmy to promote 1970 94-minute Houssam El-Din Mustafa film The Fox and the Chameleon [al-tha'lab wal-herba] starring Farid Shawqi as Zarif based on a screenplay by Houssam El-Din Mustafa, story by Mona al-Amir, dialogue by Magdi Farid and cinematography by Ali Khair Allah. Plot summary: Nagi, [Kanaan Wasfy] Camilia [Nahed Sherif] and Aziz [Ibrahim Khan] made a plan together to rob Egypt's biggest jewelry store; after they successfully did this Nagi got rid of Aziz by accusing him of theft and getting him thrown into prison. In prison Aziz confessed his crime to Zarif and told him the story of what had happened and how he had been betrayed and paid the price of the theft. Zarif promised he would help and return to him his share of the jewels. Nagi had received a ticket from a unknown source and was trying to learn the name of the sender. Soheir [Rawia Ashour] denied she had anything to do with it and threatened to kill to avenge her honor. When Zarif got out of prison he approached Nagi, said he had been the sender and that he had come to get Aziz's share. Shortly thereafter Soheir killed Nagi and Zarif received the briefcase filled with stolen goods. Zarif said he had been a police officer disguised as a prisoner so he could follow the case and arrest the gang.
