This is a 26.5" x 39" Turkish one-sheet poster for the 1975 Paul
Bartel film Death Race 2000 based on a story by Ib Melchior,
screenplay by Robert Thom and Charles Griffith and starring David
Carradine as Frankenstein. Plot summary: This is a dystopian science
fiction sports film set in the year 2000 with a government-sponsored
road race where the participants use cars that have drivers and
navigators and score points by killing pedestrians, with the point
values set according to age and sex. All pedestrians are valid
targets, including race officials and a driver's mechanics.
Frankenstein has lost most of his jaw, his nose, his right and left
eyes and most of his cranium. He wears a leather hood and his head is
held together with patches of plastic and steel plates. A resistance
group led by Thomasina Paine [Harriet Medin] seeks to sabotage the
race, kill most of the drivers and take Frankenstein hostage. She is
aided in this by her great granddaughter Annie [Simone Griffeth], who
is also Frankenstein's navigator.
