film Straw Dogs based on the 1969 novel Gordon Williams
The Siege of Trencher's Farm, screenplay by David Zelag Goodman and
Sam Peckinpah and starring Dustin Hoffman as David Sumner. Plot
summary: Astrophysicist David Sumner and his beautiful wife Amy [Susan
George] move from America to a rural area in Britain and get into
violent conflict with some local ruffians during construction work on
their new home. Amy is originally from the area and the locals resent
her marriage to Sumner.
