Scola film Ugly Dirty and Bad AKA brutti sporchi e cattivi
written by Ettore Scola and Ruggero Maccari and starring
Nino Manfredi as Giacinto Mazzatella. Plot summary: In a shack in the
hills of Rome Giacinto lives with his ten children and members of his
extended family. He has suffered an eye injury at his job and
received a substantial insurance claim. His relatives are all
plotting to kill him so they can get their hands on it. Ettore Scola
won the award for best director at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival and
was nominated for a Palme d'Or. In 1977 Nino Manfredi was nominated
for a silver ribbon as best actor by the Italian National Syndicate of
Film Journalists.
