Plot summary: In 19th Century Europe Gustav Weil is head of a brotherhood of vigilantes trying to eradicate evil by burning pretty young witches. The local landscape is dominated by the hilltop castle of the vampire Count Karnstein, [Damien Thomas] which figures into the story when teenage twins Maria Gellhorn [Mary Collinson] and Frieda Gellhorn [Madeleine Collinson] go to live with their uncle Weil.
