This is a 22.75" x 23.5" Iranian poster designed by Mihab for the 1991
Hassan Karbakhsh film Bride of Halabcheh written by Mehdi
Kalhor and starring Parivash Nazarieh. Plot summary: In 1987 on her
wedding night Kali, [Parivash Nazarieh] a girl from Halabche, is
waiting for her father, who is supposed to return to attend the
wedding after years of being away, but that very night he is killed by
Ba'th Party agents after he has gotten close enough to be able to see
the wedding from a distance. Government agents attack the wedding
party and arrest the young groom, whose name is Mohammad, and take him
to an unknown location. Kali looks everywhere for her husband and
finds her father's grave in the city of Soleymanieh. In that area the
Iraqi army is meeting fierce popular resistance and has also been
attacked by Iranian forces. It is forced to retreat and while doing
so it bombs the people with chemical weapons. Kali takes refuge in
Iran with another group; there she finds her husband Mohammad among
some Kurdish resistance forces.
