Plot summary: In rural Yugoslavia during World War II Lenka and her blind brother Miscia [Federico Scrobogna] are Jewish orphans who believe their father Ratco [Aleksandar Gavric] has been killed in the war. Ratco returns unexpectedly only to be killed trying to save the life of Lenka's lover Ivan [Nino Castelnuovo].
