This is a 26.5" by 37.75" Iranian poster designed by Bateni for the
1986 film The Broken Rifle written and directed by Mehdi
Ma'danian and starring Enayat Bakhshi. Plot summary: Bektash is
operating a turquoise mine belonging to the Ministry of Mines and
Industries at the village of Qeleh Bala. Aqa Amu and a group of
villagers including Qader are working there. Qader finds a piece of
turquoise and gives it to Aqa Amu. Bektash kills Qader at the mine.
Aqa Amu and the workers go on strike in retaliation. To determine the
value of his turquoise Aqa Amu sends Jalil to town but Bektash kills
him on the way. He also sets a grain elevator on fire in the village
to hurt the miners. Aqa Amu is opposed to fighting Bektash but
unbeknownst to him, his brother and his two other sons attack the
Bektashi house and Aqa Amu's sons are killed. Seeking revenge, Aqa
Amu digs up his buried broken rifle and with the help of the villagers
gets into a fight with Bektash and his agents. Mohammad, Aqa Amu's
brother, takes Bektash down as he is about to shoot Aqa Amu.
