This is a 27" x 37.5" Iranian poster for the 1988 Rakhshan Banietemad
film Canary Yellow written by Bahman Zarrinpour and starring
Mehdi Hashemi as Nasrollah Madadi. Plot summary: A young small-town
shoemaker named Nasrollah Madadi [Mehdi Hashemi] sells his share of a
cobbler shop to buy a piece of farmland. The owner of the land
promised to him lives in Tehran and has sold it to someone else with a
fake deed. When Nasrollah realizes the Tehran buyers are now working
the land he goes to Tehran with his wife and children to pursue the
case and stays at his father's home, but this goes nowhere. His
brother-in-law Aqa Kamal, a dealer in second-hand goods, has set
another trap for him: the sale of a Peykan automobile named Canary
Yellow which has been sold and stolen many times. Nasrollah does not
want to go back home. He wants to take a trip in Canary Yellow, but
Kamal Aqa opposes this because he is afraid the former owner will see
it and complain. They finally steal Canary Yellow from him.
