This is a 26.75" x 40.5" Iranian poster designed by Bateni for the
1986 Rasool Mollagholi film A Boat to the Beach AKA balami
be soo-ye sahel written and directed by Rasool Mollagholi Poor and
starring Khosrow Ziaee. Plot summary: Late in the month of Mehr 1359
[23 Septmber - 22 October 1980] when the city of Khorramshahr is in
danger of falling a group of revolutionary guards commanded by Morteza
is sent from Tehran to help the city's combatants. Since the roads in
the vicinity are held by the Iraqis, they are planning to take a
helicopter from Mahshahr to Khorramshahr but they are unable to get
one so Morteza moves his battalion across the Persian Gulf in a
launch. The battalion arrives in Khorramshahr a day after it has
fallen. According to plan Morteza and two of the remaining combatants
from Khorramshahr cross the Karun River in a small boat; they prepare
the necessary intelligence for striking the Iraqis by penetrating
enemy positions and making a map of enemy fortifications in
Khorramshahr. The Iraqis become aware of their presence so they have
to go back. In a night engagement Morteza's companions are killed and
he must take them back across the Karun River in the same small boat.
