This is a 26.5" x 37.25" Iranian poster for the 1988 Hassan Mohammad
Zadeh film The Tuberose AKA Gol-e Maryam written by
Jafar Simaee and starring Afsaneh Bayegan. Plot summary: Khosro
Dehgan owned a private company with a project to build a road over
Lake Urmia. He married his colleague Maryam despite opposition from
his family. Khosro's prosperous family did not consider Maryam worthy
of Khosro. Maryam had three miscarriages but on the fourth try she
gave birth. Before long the child became ill and Maryam became ill
and forgetful out of fear of its death. Medical treatment was
ineffective and Khosro's problems increased every moment. His mother
died in a fire, the road project ran into financial difficulties and
his company went bankrupt. All the people around Khosro abandoned him
but following his doctor's orders he continued caring for his wife.
He persuaded officials to increase his project budget and got back on
the road to success.
