This is a 19.5" x 27.5" Yugoslvian poster for the 1965 Stuart Burge
film Othello based on the play by William Shakespeare and
starring Laurence Olivier performing in blackface as Othello. Plot
summary: In 16th Century Cyprus Desdemona [Maggie Smith] marries the
Venetian Moor Othello in defiance of her father Brabantio [Anthony
Nicholls]; Othello's former lieutenant Iago [Frank Finlay] is not
happy about the marriage either and works to undermine Desdemona's
reputation.
