This is a 27" x 19" film poster designed by an unknown artist to
promote the 1988 Rakhshan Bani-Etamad film Canary Yellow
written by Bahman Zarrinpour and starring Mehdi Hashemi as Nasrollah.
Plot summary: A young cobbler named Nasrollah Madadi living in a small
city sold his share of the shop so he could buy a plot of land for
farming. The owner of the land promised to him was living in Tehran
and had sold the land to someone else with a fake deed. When
Nasrollah realized the Tehran buyer's workers were working the land,
he took his wife and children to Tehran to investigate the case and
knocked on the door, but this got nowhere. His brother-in-law Kemal
had set another trap for him: the sale of a Peykan automobile named
Canary Yellow which had been sold repeatedly to others and stolen.
Nasrollah did not want to go back home. He wanted to take a trip in
Canary Yellow, but Kemal was opposed to this because he was afraid the
automobile's previous owners would see and be suspicious. They
finally stole the automobile from him, but when Nasrollah was running
around trying to find it he found himself in a new transaction to buy
Canary Yellow and everything was ruined.
