This is a 26.5" x 38.25" Iranian poster designed by Bateni for the
1987 Ahmad Naikazar film Resistance written by Mojtaba Motevali
and Hamid Safayi and starring Hadi Eslami. Plot summary: When the war
starts a group of volunteers and basijis plans to go to Abadan to take
part in breaking the siege of the city. The main roads leading to the
city are in the hands of the Iraqis and their fighter jets are bombing
the cities and other positions around Abadan to prevent the arrival of
reinforcements. The commanding officer does not think it will be
possible to move volunteers into the city of Abadan so he asks them to
wait. After waiting five days the group decides it will go to Abadan
at any price. One of the volunteers suggests they go by sea. Captain
Zubair is the only one who is going to Abadan by sea to provide help
behind the lines, but his launch is not big enough to carry 20 war
volunteers with provisions and ammunition. Akbar, the leader of the
volunteers, suggests towing a dilapidated boat behind the launch.
However the tow rope is cut, its seven volunteers are separated from
the launch and disappear into the sea. Moreover the launch motor
stops working and its occupants are initially unable to find the
missing people.
