This is a 39" x 54" Italian two-sheet poster for a 1973 Italian rerelease of the 1972 Jun Fukuda film Godzilla vs. Gigan AKA Godzilla on Monster Island (the name of the film for its 1978 US release) based on a story by Takeshi Kimura and starring Hiroshi Ishikawa as Gengo Kotaka. The poster incorrectly says this film was directed by Ishiro Honda. Plot summary: While working at World Children's Land as a Manga cartoonist, Gengo Kotaka unexpectedly discovers a plan by giant insectoid aliens from a dying planet to colonize the earth. The plan's first step is to wipe out human civilization with the aid of the space monsters Gigan and King Ghidorah. When Gengo and his friends play the plan's action signal, Godzillah and Anguirus hear it. Realizing something is amiss, Godzilla sends Anguirus to Tokyo to investigate, but Japanese defensive forces do not realize his friendly intentions and drive him away. When Godzilla returns to Tokyo with Anguirus, they have to fight Gigan and King Ghidorah to save the earth.
