Pictured is a 28" x 17.5" Iranian poster designed by Mak to promote
the 1953 Hassan Kheradmand 95-minute black-and-white film Familiar
Face [chehre-ye ashna] starring Shahla Riahi based on a screenplay
by Hassan Kheradmand with cinematography by Enayatallah Famin. The
film was produced in the Pars Film Studio, released by Jahan Films and
distributed by Cinema Ferdowsi. Plot summary: Parivash and Mahvash
were two sisters with different personalities. Through an unacceptable
friendship, Parivash started spending time with a youth named Firuz
and because of him was drawn into deviation and homelessness. Mahvash
married her teacher Behruz. Parivash could not bring herself to
go back home and became more and more corrupt. When she finally found
the courage to go back home she had become old and broken; her family
did not recognize her and she had to return to her grievous life. The
family's youngest son Mehrdad became interested in studying at an
early age, ultimately became a physician and went to Canada.
