This is a 26.5" x 38" Iranian poster designed by Ali Reza Golduzan to
promote the 2000 Ali Shah Hatami film Friends [doostan]
starring Mahnaz Afshar based on a story by Ali Shah Hatami with
cinematography by Raza Banki. Plot summary: Siamak is released after
severing several years in prison for embezzlement. He is welcomed by
his sister Boloor, who is living with her young daughter. Boloor
tells her brother that her husband Eskandar had harrassed her after he
was sent to prison. She ultimately divorced him, but she said
Eskandar had taken from her the necklace her brother had given to her.
Siamak promised her he would give her the necklace but first he put
his sister and her daughter in an inn. Siamak saw his friend and
cellmate Behruz, who had just been released. Behruz said his money
had been stolen by a swindler and they agreed they would get it back.
Behrooz soon became enamored of Boloor and they became engaged. At an
art show Siamak met a painter named Sara and they began a love
relationship, even though her father Mr. Javahari was very unhappy
about it and warned Siamak to leave his daughter alone. When Siamak
met his former employer to receive his back wages the former employer
killed him with a knife.
