Plot summary: A woman living in poverty with her son marries a second time. The stepfather leads the son, who loves school and studying, into theft. The teacher tries to guide the boy, but the boy tries to kill himself since he is unable to choose between the two ways of living. The teacher saves him and brings him into his family so he can continue his studies and achieve his dreams.
