This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian Soviet export film poster for the 1949
Mikheil Chiaureli film The Fall of Berlin AKA Padeniye
Berlina written by Mikheil Chiaureli and Pyotr Pavlenko and
starring Mikheil Gelovani as Joseph Stalin. Plot summary: After going
to Moscow to be decorated by Stalin for his work as a smelter, Alexei
Ivanov [Boris Andreyev] soon finds himself in the middle of a war
while his fiance Natacha [Marina Kovalyova] has been deported to a
labor camp in Germany. After the Germans are defeated in Stalingrad the
offensive against Berlin begins. The film is an unabashed big-budget
glorification of Stalin as wartime Soviet leader.
The English title on the poster is Battle for Berlin;
the original Russian title is Padeniye Berlina whose
literal translation is "The Fall of Berlin," used as the English title
for the US release.
