Pictured is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Mohamed Abdel Aziz to promote the 1965 100-minute Kamal Al-Shennawi black-and-white film The Sultan's Idle Followers [tanablet al-soltan] starring Kamal Al-Shennawi based on a story by Eslam Fares with screenplay and dialogue by Hussein Helmy El-Mohandes and cinematography by Klelio. Plot summary: The just governor died and left the dominion to his son Hassan who had to confront oppression, but the father's wife the tyrant Asia was trying to take the sultanate away from Hassan so she could give it to her only son. She began to provoke him and gathered many agents for that purpose. Hassan's mistress Ward encouraged him to stand against Asia, but Prince Hassan succeeded in arousing his followers from their laziness to help him and urge the people to stand with him. Asia's son felt he had to do something so he made a hostage of Hassan's mother and also kidnapped Hassan's mistress Ward, demanding that Hassan step down from the throne or he would liquidate them. However Hassan made a stand against his adversaries and in his sumptious palace there was a sharp clash between his agents and adversaries. He arrested the son of his father's wife and put him in prison, then married his mistress Ward.
