as Jade Li. Plot summary: Jade Li is 22 and a member of an immigrant
Chinese family living in Canada. Jade aspires to be an actress and is
dating a caucasian boy, both of which go against the wishes of her
parents, who want her to have a good-paying job and a Chinese
husband. Jade wants to please her family but she also wants to do
things her own way.
