This is a 13" x 28" Italian locandina poster for the 1985 Akira Kurosawa film Ran based in part on William Shakespeare's King Lear with screenplay by Akira Kurosawa, Hideo Oguni and Masato Ide and starrring Tatsuya Nakadai as Lord Hidetora Ichimonji. Plot summary: Hidetora Ichimonji is an elderly 15th Century warlord who has decided to divide his kingdom among his three sons. The sons are each to be given one of his three castles. This leads to war among the sons over which of them will control the Ichimonji clan.
