IRINN Reports Chinese Chang'e 1 Satellite to Launch This Year

Broadcast 2 April on Iranian state satellite TV (IRINN)

Announcer: The Chinese satellite called the Chang'e 1 will be launched in the second half of this year. This satellite will be capable of taking three-dimensional pictures of the Lunar surface and transmitting them to earth, and measuring the Lunar surface with a laser device.

The Chang'e 1 Satellite will analyze useful elements and existing materials on the Lunar surface and will use infrared equipment to study the distribution of these elements on the Moon's surface.

Other missions for the Chang'e 1 satellite will include studying the coarseness of the Lunar soil and helium resources.

The final phase of this satellite's mission is exploration and study of 4,000 square kilometers of far side of Moon's surface, collecting information about solar winds and study of solar activity.
