Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, 29 July 2006

We will destroy all of the Israeli regime's power and hegemony. We
have done something that has made all of the people living in Israel
lose hope in their army. So far they have made no progress on the
field of battle. They have brought pressure by killing Lebanese
citizens to make us back away from our principles, but they have not
been able to prevail with military force, and now we have the trip by
Secretary of State Rice, who wants to apply her own pressure, as
always serving Israel and betraying Lebanon. Now as the Israeli
regime fears the future of this battle, it is prepared to withdraw and
is ready for negotiations, and that is a good tool the US and Israel
can use to bring pressure in this region.

It is now the duty of Lebanon, with its awareness, to thwart these
plots. We need national unity, Lebanon needs this unity, and we are
making great effort to put this unity in place. We have always
cooperated with the government of Lebanon so we can have a unified
Lebanon that has solidarity. We want the government to do what the
people of Lebanon want and not submit to superpower pressure.

Despite all this destruction we have been able to resist and this has
been a good opportunity for us to impose our national will on the
occupiers so that we will no longer experience their aggression. O
people of Lebanon! We must win! God willing, victory will be with
us! I have heard much talk about our victory. If we win, what will
happen?

Some political groups are afraid of our victory. The people of
Lebanon have had good experiences with victories by the Hezbollah and
the mojahedin. This victory will not belong to the Hezbollah, but to
all of the nation of Lebanon with its groups and clans, and it will be
for every Arab, Christian and Muslim who has stood up to this
aggression. This victory will be for all the brave fighters in the
resistance, whether in Lebanon or outside of Lebanon, even the
politicians who have used their pens in the service of the nation of
Lebanon. They will be victorious too.

This victory will make a strong, beautiful and firm Lebanon, and we
will have a united Lebanon that has solidarity. This victory has been
able to bring the teachings of Christianity and Islam together and
intertwine them. All of the people of Lebanon have been sincerely
joined together in these days. I say to all of the people of Lebanon
that they must not fear our victory. Be happy!

In recent days in the Arab and Muslim nations we have seen good
conditions with the victory with the help of the Hezbollah of Lebanon
and I thank them. Perhaps in these circumstances people will say
things or issue religious decrees saying seeking to question this
solidarity. I say to all of you, pay no attention to talk like this!
I thank the clergy of Islam for being able so far to prevent Muslims
from splitting apart.

I have something to say to the leaders of governments. We have not
asked you for any help. We have not asked you for anything other than
that you not support the aggressor, and we have asked you to stop the
aggressor. Whenver we have seen help by any Arab government leaders
to Lebanon, we have welcomed and embraced it happily. We are prepared
to sacrifice our lives and assets for this cause.

There are some ambigious questions being asked about Syria and the
Islamic Republic of Iran. Why haven't they helped the Hezbollah? Why
have they left us alone in this crisis? I would like to say that they
have never interfered in the work we are doing ourselves. These two
dear nations are making every effort to support Lebanon, but not to
incite the Hezbollah. These are ambiguous questions that enemies are
asking. These two dear nations want nothing other than good things
and happiness for Lebanon.

Here I must thank our neighbor nation of Syria for giving shelter to
refugees and being kind to them. I say to all of the noble and
resisting people and to all of the refugees who have complete
certainty about our victory, to all of the old people, women,
children, the sick, the families who have no shelter other than the
sky, can my words thank you? However I say to them that we are
sacrificing for you, we are sacrificing for all of the tears from your
displacement. Dear ones, you will return to your land with strength
and honor. We have nothing for you other than the hope of victory.

Let me say to the Hezbollah fighters that I have received your letter.
You are the promise of God. You will give freedom to the captives.
You will purge this land of the occupiers. My dear ones, you are the
essence of the honor of Lebanon, you are the whole of Lebanon's
ethical, mystical, and spiritual values. You are the manifestation of
all of Lebanon's natural beauty, from its mountains and its plains to
its sea. You were, are and will be our hope. I kiss your hands and
heads, your lifted heads and hands that bear arms. I kies your feet,
that stand on your ground firmly. Do not permit yourselves to
surrender, and stand firmly.

O my brothers! I am one of you and I am one of your brothers. You
are my leader, you are my brother. You are men of God and it is
through you that we will be victorious. However, let me say to the
enemy that no matter how long this war lasts, we will stand, and know
that we will not be defeated. I say to all the leaders of the
occupier, do whatever you want! I say to them, do whatever you are
able to do, but you will get nowhere!
